Classic timer for perfect boiled eggs. No technology. Just an iconic old friend. Make sure your eggs are boiled to perfection every time with this traditional, hour-glass shaped, 3 minute timer, made from wood with metal uprights and a glass container with white sand. A classic timer that is simple to use as there is no technology involved. It has markings for 1, 2 and 3 minutes. Use it for timing eggs, games, toothbrushing, exercises. This iconic old friend will not let you down and is good looking enough to sit on your worktop or at the table. To cook a perfect soft boiled egg, place eggs in a small saucepan, and fill with enough cold water to cover the eggs by about 1cm (1/2 inch). Bring to a boil on high heat. When the water boils, reduce the heat to low so that you have a gentle simmer. Cook until done. Using the timer, boil your eggs for 2 minutes if you like eggs with a very soft yolk and egg white, or 3 minutes if you like the white just set, and a yolk that is starting to thicken. If your eggs are very fresh (up to 5 days old), add an extra half a minute to these cooking times.
